Russell Logan leads M&A services for Sugaer. He helps business owners develop and execute exit strategies of private, closely held enterprises. He advises on both sell-side and buy-side transactions including valuation, deal structuring support, and negotiation.

He has earned a coveted certification as a Certified Board Advisor™ (CBA), recognizing his excellence in professional managerial talents, executive leadership, and board directorship. The CBA designation is a capstone certification, denoting that the holder is a proven leader with a commitment to taking personal responsibility for competent corporate governance and strategic decision making.

As a senior executive management consultant, Russell has inspired Fortune 500 leaders and worked with them to improve corporate strategy, product marketing plans and business development programs and demonstrated skills in strategy formulation/implementation, mergers and acquisition, and marketing strategy. As a results-focused manager, Russell has helped start-ups, rapid-growth, and transitional enterprises achieve strong revenue, profits, market share, and corporate/shareholder value growth.

He served as chair of the UVA IDEA Fund, leading overall management of this fund, which augments the University of Virginia’s investments in programs and resources that help create a more inclusive and vibrant community. He worked with senior university administration to identify and prioritize initiatives for investment from the fund. He was also responsible for overseeing fund development, determining strategies to raise funds from university alums through direct giving and corporate fundraising.

He has held senior-level Fortune 500 management consulting positions in firms such as Accenture and Coopers & Lybrand and has lent his industry expertise to VeriSign, CSX Fiber Networks, and Espire Communications. His industry and technology expertise include connected devices, mobile healthcare and consumer telematics, and fiber networking.

Russell’s experience and entrepreneurial enthusiasm has resulted in other notable achievements. For example, he won first place in FundingPost’s 2005 Pitching Across America™ competition. He also leads business and conceptual development for creating and launching NUETV (a BET competitor television network). In April 2016, Russell was honored by Arlington Public Schools as a Parent Model of Excellence recipient for his work and dedication to the community and advancement of education and inclusion.

Russell earned an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from UVA.
